Ed Sheeran launches portable PA system for buskers: “One thing in my early years I wish I had was a portable set up that could gig anywhere”
Ed Sheeran has launched his own PA system, specifically designed with buskers in mind.
Launched as part of his Sheeran Loopers brand, the Sheeran Busker “provides pristine audio and convenient portability for on-the-go performers across all genres, skill levels, and professional pedigrees”. It has 20 hours of battery life, or 24 in an Eco Mode.

Sheeran himself, now a mega star across the globe, started out by busking in train stations. This PA speaker has been built for musicians looking to captivate audiences in public spaces, while eliminating the need for a mass of clunky equipment.
It offers 200W of “raw sonic power”, plus DSP processing and a built-in three channel mixer. It also has individual modes that will accommodate the sound output depending on how the device is oriented for your performance, whether it be vertical, horizontal or pole mounted on a tripod or subwoofer.
There’s also an on-board Alesis FX that offers studio quality reverb, delay, modulation and more, plus Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity lets you play along with backing tracks or connect a second Busker for stereo monitoring. You can even control parameters from your phone with The Alto Pro app for iOS and Android.

“One thing in my early years of gigging I wish I had was a portable set up that could gig anywhere,” states Sheeran of the launch. “So much of the shows relied on other people and other equipment. When I set up Sheeran Loopers I wanted to make an on the go loop pedal with all the functions I use in a live show, but I thought why not create a portable PA speaker for it too, so you could do shows anywhere.
“The idea came from wanting to just do pop up shows in the city centres of places I was touring, so we made the Looper Busker.
