Dime Guitarz revives The Culprit, an iconic Dimebag Darrell design from the late 1990s

It’s official: Dime Guitarz is finally debuting its first Dimebag Darrell-designed guitar after months of teasing. Introducing The Culprit, a rare model from the late 1990s that is reportedly “coming soon”.
Originally crafted by Washburn, The Culprit was one of Dimebag’s more experimental designs, featuring a body shape reminiscent of the Dean ML but with a scooped rear bout. Now, it’s making a long-awaited return with modern refinements.

Recent images released by Dime Guitarz offer a closer look at the revived model. The guitar sports a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers (including a Dimebucker in the bridge), along with a Floyd Rose tremolo, making it perfect for those signature dive bombs and squeals the late Pantera guitarist was known for.
It also features the famous winged headstock shape, now adorned with the new ‘DGZ’ logo, and what looks to be a print of Dimebag’s signature on the head.

Notably, there appears to be at least two versions of The Culprit – one featuring the revolutionary Z-Glide neck, an innovation by Dean founder Dean Zelinsky. According to Dime Guitarz, this unique neck profile features a precisely engraved pattern that reduces contact between the player’s hand and the neck, resulting in an “ultra fast” and “silky-smooth feel”.
“The Culprit… designed by Dimebag Darrell,” Zelinsky wrote on Facebook last September when the model was first teased.

While official details and specs have not been released as of yet, here’s hoping the wait won’t be too long before fans can finally get their hands on one of these beasts.
Meanwhile, Pantera recently announced the dates for an extensive 2025 US summer tour featuring special guest Amon Amarth. The trek kicks off 15 July in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, and will hit amphitheaters across the country, wrapping up on 13 September in West Palm Beach, Florida — covering a total of 29 stops.
In other news, Zakk Wylde recently shared how a freak tour injury left him playing most of the Pantera reunion tour with just three fingers.
