“Craziest crossover of all time”: Watch Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson perform Walk with Pantera on stage in Paris

Fans at Pantera’s Paris show on Saturday, 15 February, were in for an unexpected treat when Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson made a surprise appearance on stage.
The vocalist, who resides in Paris with his wife, traded his signature operatic style for a grittier take on Pantera’s 1993 classic Walk.

The reformed band – featuring core members Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown, alongside Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante – was tearing through a career-spanning set at the Adidas Arena in Paris when Anselmo took a moment to acknowledge Dickinson’s presence in the crowd.
Later on, midway through their performance of Walk, Dickinson stormed the stage, mic in hand, to belt out the song’s iconic chorus alongside the Pantera frontman.
The band later posted a video of the surprise collaboration on Instagram, writing, “We were honoured to have Bruce Dickinson join us for Walk.”
Fans have since flooded the comments section with disbelief and excitement, with one joking, “We got Bruce singing with Pantera before GTA VI,” while another called it the “craziest crossover of all time.”

The surprise appearance comes just days before Pantera kicks off their first UK and Ireland headlining tour in 20 years, with stops in Glasgow, Leeds, Dublin, Birmingham, and London. The band will return to the UK in July for Black Sabbath’s final reunion show, sharing the stage with Metallica, Slayer, Gojira, and more.
Pantera’s reunion is now at full momentum, with the band having played numerous shows across the US and Europe over the past year. But upon its initial announcement, it was plagued by controversy, stemming from accusations of past racism against frontman Phil Anselmo. Originally scheduled to perform at Germany’s biggest twin festivals Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park back in 2023, Pantera was booted from the lineup following an outcry over Anselmo’s alleged racist behaviour in the past.
Specifically, the singer’s “white power” outburst and alleged Nazi salute in 2016 was brought to the fore. While Anselmo later claimed that his actions were an inside joke about the white wine he was drinking backstage, and issued a video apology for his behaviour, organisers still faced pressure from Germany’s Green Party to remove Pantera from the festivals.
