Cort launches Bevel Cut Collection
Cort has introduced a new series of acoustic guitars simply dubbed the Bevel Cut Collection. The namesake of this collection is a beveled cutaway feature on the guitar’s body that is designed for player arm comfort.
The Bevel Cut Collection comprises four models: two varieties of the Grand Regal Bevel, the Earth Bevel and the Luce Bevel. The four share a few design similarities, including a 25.3 inch scale, a 20-fret mahogany neck with dovetail joint, an ovangkol fretboard and bridge, and a solid Sitka spruce top.
Grand Regal Bevel
Both Grand Regal Bevel models feature grand auditorium bodies but have different tonewoods. The GA-MY model features myrtlewood arched back and sides, while the GA-PF uses pau ferro instead.
GA-PFAccording to Cort, the arched back on both models is meant to be “much more responsive and offers greater resonance and sustain.” The guitar’s light weight is meant to lend to overall acoustic resonance while the UV finish is described as “sonically enhanced” and “resistant to scratches”.
GA-MYBoth models also feature the LR Baggs Preamp – with simple volume and tone controls – and similar hardware appointments that include diecast gold tuners with black knobs, ebony bridge pins and an abalone rosette.
Both models retail for $899.99.
Earth Bevel and Luce Bevel
These two are affordable alternatives to the Grand Regal Bevel models. Both the Earth Bevel (dreadnought) and Luce Bevel (orchestra) possess the beveled cutaway, but dial back on other features to keep things affordable.

You won’t find onboard preamps on either, but Cort says the reclaimed cavity space will lend to a “greater volume”. Tonewood and hardware are also more modest: mahogany back and sides, diecast tuners and a herringbone rosette.
Both models retail for $399.99.
