Carlos Santana tests positive for Covid, cancels second show “out of an abundance of caution” after recent collapse
After being hospitalised prior to his San Antonio, Texas show earlier this week, Carlos Santana has announced the cancellation of a second show “out of an abundance of caution”.
The guitarist – currently on his Oneness Tour – was due to play at the city’s Majestic Theatre on Tuesday night (22 April) when he suffered a medical incident which was later revealed to be dehydration.
At the time, Santana’s manager Michael Vrionis released a statement confirming that the show will be postponed and that the musician was “doing well” after receiving treatment.

Now, a second concert in Texas (Thursday, 24 April) has been postponed after it was revealed that Santana had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Carlos experienced dehydration yesterday, and has since tested positive for Covid,” the new statement reads. “I am happy to report that Carlos is doing well and will be back on his US Tour this Friday in Thackerville, OK. We appreciate everyone’s well wishes and concern. Carlos is looking forward to seeing you all very soon.”
“Please hang onto your tickets – we will advise on the rescheduled show date as soon as possible.”

The 77-year-old musician is due to continue playing shows throughout April for the Oneness tour, before heading to the New Orleans Jazz Festival in May, and the House Of Blues in Las Vegas to continue his residency – the original dates were postponed after he suffered a fall at home.
