Vox is wanting to give fans of the Queen guitarist the chance to take his stadium sounds anywhere, with a lightweight tube amp and cabinet rig, and a headphone amplifier.
The VOX MV50, and the headphone amplifier VOX amPlug will be sold via the Korg’s Reverb Shop, which previously sold the VOX Bobcat V90 Bigsby in Sapphire Blue.
There is no spec information as of yet, but from what we can see, both amps come in a deep cherry red, matching his Brian May Antique Cherry Special guitar that he is known for.
“I want people to be able to get the sounds you make in a stadium show into your living room, and this achieves that,” says Sir Brian May. “I hope that people find them inspiring.”
There is no specific information about the specs of these new releases, but the MV50 has been built to produce a “huge sound”, despite it’s size, according to the manufacturer.
It features one normal jack input, and an external speaker jack and headphone line out. As well as this, are standard controls of volume, gain, and tone.
As for the headphone amp, there are chorus, delay and reverb effects, as well as tone and FX controls. It also boasts an 11-17 hour battery life depending on the use of effects.
Vox has always made exciting drops just in time for NAMM. Last year was no different, as they launched the Pathfinder 10 amp in a Union Jack finish to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
