Brad Paisley gifts Nashville bombing survivor a new guitar
Following the Christmas day bombing in Nashville, Buck McCoy, a musician who lost his home in the blast, has been able to get back to playing thanks to the generosity of country star Brad Paisley.
While one of his instruments has been returned to him, albeit in need of a few repairs, McCoy told local news outlet WKRN of how Paisley came to gift him a new guitar: “I went to my Instagram, and there was a message; and I was like, this must be some kind of prank,” he said. “You know, one of my funny buddies saying let’s cheer Buck up. No, it was actually him; and he wanted to talk to me, and he said I want to hook you up with a guitar so you can get back to work and make a living.”
He went on to explain how he hopes that the new guitar will help him move on from the experience: “I can’t just sit around and think about it over and over and the memory comes back,” he said. “It’s just, I need to create new memories; I need to create fun experiences, and then water those experiences; and let those old weeds die in the back.”

The guitar looks to be one of Paisley’s latest signature Esquires from Fender, finished in relic’d black sparkle with a ‘secret’ neck pickup.
Paisley also offered McCoy unlimited groceries from his own non-profit, The Store, which provides free food to those in need.
