2020 Grammy nominations: Gary Clark Jr., Tool, Vampire Weekend and more
The Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 62nd Grammy Awards yesterday. Acts like Gary Clark Jr., Vampire Weekend and Killswitch Engage are up for awards in the rock and metal categories.
Gary Clark Jr.’s This Land has earned him a nomination in four categories, namely ‘Best Music Video’, ‘Best Contemporary Blues Album’, ‘Best Rock Performance’ and ‘Best Rock Song’. This puts the Austin native in the same category as Rival Sons and Bones UK, who are also up for nomination for ‘Best Rock Performance’.
Mexican acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela’s Mettavolution is in the running for ‘Best Contemporary Instrumental Album’, while Yola, Tool, Vampire Weekend, The 1975 and Brittany Howard are also up for ‘Best Rock Song’.
