12 new pedals and effects units: February 2019

Every month, we’ll compile a few lists of gear that’s fresh out of the oven. Here’s one devoted to new guitar pedals.
Catalinbread Coriolis Effect

Catalinbread’s new stompbox, inspired by a mechanics phenomenon, is packed with a sustainer, wah, filter, pitch shifter and harmoniser. It’s built around three parameters that can alter your signal in interesting ways: Position, Acceleration and Velocity.
Snake Oil Marvellous Engine

One of two stompboxes from Rob Chapman’s new pedal brand, the Marvellous Engine is a dirt box that’s designed to recreate the drive tones of classic British . In terms of aesthetics, the pedal takes on a steampunk-esque style.
Mad Professor Double Moon

The Double Moon is a modulation stompbox with a versatile range of chorus, flanger and vibrato effects. The nifty little device features all-analogue circuitry and bucket brigade signal paths.
MXR Dookie Drive
The MXR Dookie DriveAs you can tell from its name, the MXR Dookie Drive is inspired by Green Day’s iconic 1994 album. The circuit was created to capture the gritty, articulate overdrive tone Billie Joe Armstrong achieved on the record.
Walrus Audio Lillian Multi-stage Analog Phaser

The Lillian Multi-stage Analog Phaser, named after WWII pilot Lillian Yonally, has a control layout that’s similar to its cousin, the Julia. It features two stages: Stage 4 offers warm and tight phasing while Stage 6 delivers a more complex, filtered sound.
Seymour Duncan Dark Sun Mark Holcomb signature

This delay and reverb unit was designed in collaboration with Periphery’s guitarist, Mark Holcomb. The pedal’s main highlight is its ability to route both the lush hall reverb and warm digital delay in whatever configuration you desire.
Xotic Super Clean

This diminutive pedal is designed to overcome the signal loss caused by long cables or complex signal chains. As an added feature, it comes with a gain knob that can gently push your tone in the right direction.
Strymon Volante

The Strymon Volante, dubbed the “magnetic echo machine” by the brand, offers three vintage echo emulations, a sound-on-sound and a vintage-voiced spring reverb. Each of these effects has comprehensive controls and is highly tweakable.
Rose

The Eventide Rose is a super-modulated, digital delay pedal with all-analogue circuitry. This uncommon design allows it to produce some truly unique sounds, from lush textures to experimental compositions.
EHX Bass Mono Synth
The EHX Bass Mono SynthHere’s one for the bass players: the EHX Bass Mono Synth comes loaded with 11 bass synth options, including vintage synth emulations, thick and saturated voicings, as well as deep, bellowing tones.
Supro 1313 Delay

The Supro 1313 Delay comes fitted with MN3005 bucket brigade IC chips which open up a smorgasbord of sound options, including 20ms slapback and up to 600ms of smooth, vintage-voiced delay.
EHX Attack Decay

This bold unit harks back to EHX’s 1980 stompbox of the same name. It’s a tape reverse simulator that arms you with an arsenal of sounds including volume swells, reverse tape effects, artificially shortened staccato notes and bowed instrument effects.
