Conor McGregor booed during Limp Bizkit concert after displaying seriously poor understanding of mosh pit etiquette
UFC veteran Conor McGregor found himself the subject of an arena-wide booing after Fred Durst mentioned his name on stage at a Limp Bizkit concert in Dublin on 11 March.
In the days prior to the gig at the 3Arena, McGregor – who hails from Crumlin, Dublin – confirmed on Instagram that he’d be attending the show, and that he’d be “bang in the centre of the mosh pit if anyone’s looking for their jaw broke and their teeth sent”.

McGregor’s post was at odds with what’s generally considered good mosh pit etiquette; the idea isn’t to knock people out – or bounce heads off the canvas, as he’s used to – but rather to respectfully push each other around as a form of catharsis.
“That’s bad mosh pit etiquette I believe,” one user replied. “Nvm, I’m not getting in the mosh pit anymore,” another wrote.
Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst seemed to get wind of the post, too, mentioning onstage: “It sounds like you’re in love with Conor McGregor here.” The Dublin crowd responded with boos and jeers around the venue. “From what I’ve heard, he’s actually out there right now,” Durst continued. Fans have responded to the footage with their own experiences from the night, with one user on Reddit saying, “Fred mentioned him again a song or two later and he was booed again. One of the night’s highlights, for me.”
Another wrote, “The boos were very loud in the arena. I can’t imagine his ego would have enjoyed being mocked, booed, and laughed at. Fred knew what he was doing.”
Another gig-goer confirmed: “That video didn’t capture the main booing. It was a tiny sliver of the reaction.”
