“I f**king LOVE it”: Liam Gallagher responds to Bring Me The Horizon’s surprise cover of Oasis’s Wonderwall
Bring Me The Horizon don’t mind making listeners scratch their heads a bit. This is, after all, a band who teamed up with Ed Sheeran for a rockier version of Bad Habits at the BRITs in 2022 – and then reprised it at Reading that year with Sheeran as their guest.
Now, they’ve done it all over again. In partnership with Spotify Singles, they’ve released a cover of the Oasis megahit Wonderwall, and it’s actually rather good.

It might be a left-field choice of song, but in fairness, Bring Me have nailed it. Then again, they were never about to attempt a pale imitation of the Gallagher brothers and instead, they’ve treated Wonderwall like their own track. With its distorted guitars, rock-driven drums and screamed vocals courtesy of frontman Oli Sykes, it could easily be mistaken for a Bring Me The Horizon original.
In fact, when asked for his response to X/Twitter, Liam Gallagher said: “I fucking LOVE it.”

Wonderwall’s loved by some, but despised by others, especially if it evokes images of whiny boys covering it badly. If the original’s not your bag, maybe this version will be.
We live in wild times if Bring Me The Horizon are covering Oasis – but then again, anything is possible given we’re getting an Oasis reunion this year. The brothers will be playing shows in the UK & Ireland, North America, Australia, South America, South Korea and Japan.
There might be new music too. In December, Liam Gallagher said in response to a fan’s question on X/Twitter: “I reckon [if] we nail this tour and be kind to one another there could be an album. This is what real bands do, let’s just take one step at a time. I think you’d agree that was the wisest move.”
