MXR’s legendary Phase 90 pedal gets a gold makeover for its 50th anniversary
MXR has unveiled a stunning gold version of its iconic Phase 90 pedal in celebration of the legendary phaser’s 50th anniversary.
Set to arrive on 18 March with a price tag of $200, this limited-edition pedal marks the second gold phaser announced this month, joining the ranks of Electro-Harmonix’s limited-run Small Stone Analogue Phase Shifter from last week.

Released in 1972 as MXR’s first-ever pedal, the Phase 90 has become a staple on the pedal boards of millions of players worldwide. Over the years, it has been embraced by countless artists across a diverse array of musical genres, ranging from David Gilmour and Eddie Van Halen to Tom Morello and John Mayer.
Beyond its luxurious looks, the 50th Anniversary Phase 90 stays true to the no-nonsense nature of its predecessor, featuring a single Speed knob for control over those phaser effects.

“In 2022, we created this special gold edition of the MXR Phase 90 to celebrate that 50-year legacy, and we shared it exclusively with our closest friends in the industry. But we decided that it was too good to keep to ourselves, so we’ve decided to make a limited number available to players worldwide,” MXR says of the release.
Like most golden anniversary editions, these special Phase 90s are expected to sell out fast (remember EHX’s golden Double Anniversary Big Muff Pi pedal last year?), so be sure to register your interest at MXR’s website today.
