Synyster Gates’ signature 7-string headless Schecter has arrived – here are the details on specs, price, and how you can get it
Schecter has finally launched the Synyster Gates Custom-7 TR Headless model, over a year after fans first speculated it was coming.
Fans spotted a headless gold model in Gates’ hands back in May 2023, when footage from an Avenged Sevenfold show at Welcome To Rockville festival in Florida made its way online. Things remained quiet for a while after, and even a signature model for A7X’s Zacky Vengeance (the ZV-H6LLYW66D) landed in the meantime. More recently though, a wacky teaser involving a guillotine officially confirmed the headless guitar was on its way.

Directly through Schecter, you can get your hands on an Oak Green Metallic version with some classy gold hardware. If you’re looking for the same shiny gold model as previously played by Syn however, you’ll need to act fast. Dubbed the “Nobody Headless”, there’s only 25 of these available in a limited-edition drop via his Synner online store. Priced considerably higher at $7,499, this model also grants fans 60,000 points on Avenged Sevenfold’s Season Pass, the band’s blockchain-based points system which rewards dedicated fans with perks.

Underneath these snazzy finishes, these models offer the same specs – each has a chambered mahogany body with a maple centre and hosts a Hipshot seven-string headless tremolo system with tuning functions at the bridge.
The fretboard is ebony while the set-neck is maple (26.5” scale with an ultra thin “C” shape, hosting 24 X-Jumbo Gold frets), and it has two carbon fibre reinforcement rods. There’s even a gold “Syn S” inlay at the 12th fret, and side dot markers that glow in the dark.
As for controls, this beheaded beast hosts master volume/master tone dials (with a push-pull mechanism for a coil split function), a three-way toggle switch, and two Schecter USA Synyster Gates Signature Humbuckers, housed at the neck and the bridge.
