Meet the Boss Katana-Mini X – an uber-compact new addition to the Katana amp line
After the Katana Gen 3 range landed earlier this year, BOSS has continued the line’s expansion with a tiny but feature-packed practice amp, the Katana-Mini X.
Building on the foundations of 2021’s Katana Mini, the Katana-Mini X boasts even more effects, three unique amp tone options and even an onboard tuner.

A fine fit for musicians on the go, the Katana-Mini X is a sub-3kg, 10-watt amp equipped with BOSS’s Tube Logic sound design, which aims to recreate the sound and responsiveness of classic tube amps.
The Katana-Mini X also comes equipped with 10 effects, allowing users to toy with Chorus, Phaser, Tremolo, Touch Wah, Defretter, Synth, Octave, Delay, and two reverb types. There’s also the option to run two effects simultaneously, if desired. It also comes loaded with three versatile amp types: a high-gain Brown; a more aggressive Crunch; and a stripped-back Clean tone. There’s also a three-band EQ section comprising simple Bass, Middle and Treble dials.
Housed in a sturdy wood cabinet with custom 5-inch speaker – which offers a“satisfying feel and rich low-end response” – the Katana-Mini X also comes with an onboard tuner, as well as Bluetooth functionality, so you can jam along to tunes or even simple use it as a speaker.
