Heritage teams up with pop-punk veteran to launch H-137 Core Collection
Heritage Guitars is ever growing its Custom Shop Core Collection, and its latest addition – the H-137 – is where “classic craftsmanship meets modern artistry”. And the brand has teamed up with Matt Hoopes – longtime guitarist in Relient K, and the man behind 1981 Inventions to launch the new line.
Available in three punky colourways, the new line offers a classic stripped-down singlecut body and “rich, articulate tones” for both cleans and overdriven grit. With a pair of P-90 pickups it owes its inspiration to the classic learner models that came out of the Kalamazoo factory when Gibson was the tenant, before Heritage was founded and took residence of the iconic Michigan facility in the 1980s.

The new H-137 is crafted at that legendary 225 Parsons Street address, where it was designed to blend classic aesthetics with “cutting-edge” features. It’s sculpted from lightweight genuine mahogany, and features vintage-inspired construction with a comfortable ‘50s C-shape neck, and 225 Classic P90 pickups wound in-house.
Heritage says these pickups offer tonal versatility for both heavier and raw playing styles, and each model is paired with a classic tune-o-matic bridge and an aluminium stopbar tailpiece for enhanced sustain.
The guitars are finished in nitrocellulose gloss and come in either Faded Cherry, classic TV Yellow, and Olive Drab. The distinctive headstock is home to the Heritage logo with Twin Arrow inlay and 3×3 tuners laser-etched with Heritage graphics. Each guitar also comes shipped in a premium Heritage Custom Shop hard case as standard.
