Meet Nucleo, the ambient pedal inspired by the natural reverb of a nuclear power plant

Guitarist and YouTuber Paul Davids has teamed up with Italian boutique pedal maker Cornerstone on a new signature ambient reverb pedal inspired by the natural reverb of a nuclear power plant.

Inspired by Davids’ visit to the Zwentendorf nuclear plant in Austria, Nucleo offers ambience and cinematic soundscapes with unique features like a special freeze, granular, various pitch shifting, modulation and a whole lot more.
The pedal is equipped with two primary dials: Reactor and Blend. The Reactor dial allows you to manipulate the reverb size, ranging from a subtle lo-fi room effect to a massive, immersive soundscape. Meanwhile, Blend adjusts the balance between your dry signal and the wet reverb.
There are controls for Modulation, Pitch, and Speed of the reverb effect, along with dials for Decay, Tone, and Freeze (volume) as well. The pedal also includes two footswitches for easy access to Bypass and Freeze functions.
Users can also save their favourite presets on Nucleo, and there’s MIDI functionality for you to integrate the pedal into your live rig.
Pre-orders for the Nucleo are now open, with an official launch slated for this December. You can purchase the pedal at the special launch price of $429 for now.

“Usually you hear it coming out of your amp or from your speaker,” Davids said of his experience playing in the heart of the reactor. “[Here you’re] drenched in reverb, you feel it all around you.”
“[This is] one of the most inspiring rooms I ever played in to be honest.”
