Hoping for a new Oasis album? Liam Gallagher says one is “in the bag”

According to Liam Gallagher, a tour isn’t the only thing coming out of the Oasis reunion – a brand new album is also apparently “in the bag”.
The Britpop band announced their reunion in late August, confirming a number of live shows for the UK and Ireland dubbed Oasis Live ‘25. The announcement was first teased with posts showing 27 August in the Oasis typography across Liam, Noel’s and the band’s official socials. The same graphic was also displayed at Liam’s headline set at Reading Festival on Sunday 25 August, during which he dedicated Half The World Away to his brother.

Liam went onwards solo while Noel formed High Flying Birds in 2010 after their colossal split – but hopefuls have clung on to the idea of a reunion for years, with even The 1975’s Matty Healy weighing in on the debate and encouraging the pair to put their differences aside.
Oasis’ iconic 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, but as Liam states in two replies to fans on X, another record is already complete. In response to one fan who asked if it’s true that they’ll be releasing a new album, Liam simply writes, “Yep it’s already finished”. Another fan suggests that the feeling of a new album is “in the air”, to which Liam also responds, “It’s in the bag mate, fuck the air”.

This news may soothe the souls of the thousands of fans who were unable to get tickets for the tour, as prices soared above £300. Due to such mass frustration at the system, the UK government has confirmed it will look into dynamic pricing, which currently (and legally) lets platforms like Ticketmaster raise prices when demand is high.
Ticketmaster itself also spoke out following the criticism, and claimed the prices were set by the “event organiser”. A representative of Oasis then put out a statement in which it said, “It needs to be made clear that Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness that dynamic pricing was going to be used.”
They also said that “while prior meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band’s management resulted in a positive ticket sale strategy”, unfortunately “the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations”.
