“I get the feeling my dad wants it”: Liam Gallagher’s son on the possibility of an Oasis reunion
Gene Gallagher, son of Liam Gallagher and frontman of rock band Villanelle, has spoken out on the chance of an Oasis reunion.
Gene, who plays guitar and provides vocals for the new outfit, was recently asked about the chances of his dad’s band getting together again following their 2009 split. Though giving few words on the matter, he does hope it will happen.

In an interview with The Times off the back of being asked about his favourite Oasis track – which he jokes is Wonderwall – he says, “[It’s] nothing to do with me. I mean, will they? I don’t know. I would love it but it’s so beyond my control.” When it’s suggested that he’s been sworn to silence, he replies, “No, no. I get the feeling my dad wants it too. Let’s hope it happens. It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints.”
Later in the same interview, Gene is asked if he ever discusses such a reunion with Anaïs Gallagher, Noel Gallagher’s daughter. “No, we have jokes about it but we don’t go at it,” he replies. “She knows what her dad’s like and I know what my dad’s like. Hey, we’re a big happy family everyone. It’s nothing to do with us.” When asked if the pair could “do an intervention”, he states, “They’re both [Liam and Noel] way too smart for that, it would never work.”
Back in April, Liam claimed he’d “never mentioned” an Oasis reunion, despite having mentioned the possibility in February. Ride frontman and former Oasis bassist Andy Bell gave in an interview in which he said Oasis would “probably” reunite “at some point,” prompting Liam to say that Bell “should really not be getting people’s hopes up.” Previously, Liam had suggested that his team had contacted Noel’s with an offer for “an Oasis thing”, which Noel allegedly turned down.
Gene Gallagher’s band Villanelle are touring this November. Tickets are on sale now. Liam Gallagher is due to play at Reading And Leeds festival this August.
