Patrick Hufschmid Introduces Latest Guitar Project — Unique & Historically Crafted
Swiss guitar Patrick Hufschmid shares photos and details of his most recent guitar project.
This particular guitar is crafted from a 120-year-old pine door, originally part of an old shed in a local Chasselas vineyard in Switzerland. The wood’s unique silver patina has emerged from decades of exposure to sunlight and environmental elements, a fascinating result of photodegradation. The project required meticulous planning and craftsmanship as I worked with hand-guided small power tools to overcome the challenges of the uneven surface.
Beyond its appearance, the guitar also boasts exceptional tonal qualities thanks to the Sipo Mahogany body and neck. The instrument takes its design inspiration from the iconic Iceman shape and is equipped with high-quality materials and hardware.
