What's the little bottom screw on the Axis's Floyd Rose do?

I know the little screw on the side of the Floyd Rose determines how loose the whammy bar swings/moves. All I have figured out with the bottom screw is that if you tighten it enough, the whammy bar pops out of the hole. If you keep the tiny screw loose, the whammy bar itself has a VERY tiny amount of motion up and down once it’s clicked into place, which I cannot understand the purpose of the bar moving slightly up/down on it’s own?
