China Tariff Update: Exclusion Request Procedures Announced for Tariff List 4
NAMM is to present a “how-to” webinar on Tuesday, November 5, sharing information and instructions on how to submit a tariff exclusion request. 10:00 a.m. PT/1:00 p.m. ET.
Late last week, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative announced that it will establish a process for U.S. businesses to request an exclusion from tariffs placed on products on the HTS code lists 4A and 4B from China. Products on list 4A (stringed instruments, pianos, wind instruments, percussion, keyboards, accessories and more) are currently subject to a 15% tariff; products on list 4B (some stringed instruments, stands and some accessories) will be subject to a 15% tariff beginning on December 15, 2019. The web portal for submitting exclusion requests for products on lists 4A and 4B will be open from October 31, 2019 until January 31, 2020.
The panel will be moderated by Mary Luehrsen, NAMM Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations, and featured speakers include subject matter experts Jim Goldberg, Principal, Goldberg & Associates, PLLC; Chris Cushing, Managing Director, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough; Crystal Morris, CEO and Paul Ferrier, CFO Gator Cases, Inc.
To join the webinar, please RSVP here. Participants will receive a link to the live presentation.
For those unable to attend, the webinar will be recorded and posted on NAMM’s website by Nov. 6th.
