Steve White signs with KEO Percussion

Top drummer Steve White has joined KEO Percussion’s roster of signature artists.

Following a successful spell with Paul Weller’s The Style Council, White continued to work with Weller in the latter’s solo projects and when Weller undertook a solo acoustic tour, became a course instructor at the Freddie Gee Drum Academy. Additionally, an invitation to build on his role as an educator led to a series of drum clinics, including breaking clinic attendance records in 2000 when appearing alongside drummer Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

In 2001 White became a product consultant in the drum manufacturing industry and was introduced to drum builder Keith Keough. Together they designed and developed a portfolio of instruments, including the Modern Classic drums.

Keith Keough, meanwhile, launched KEO Percussion in 2018 with a range of handmade percussion instruments for professional drummers and percussionists. Steve White is the most recent musician to join the roster of Signature Artists, which also includes Iron Maiden’s Nicko McBrain.

Steve White says: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the KEO percussion family. It will be great to be working and creating with my dear friend Keith. I love the KEO Percussion products and I love the vision and the innovation. It’s going to be both productive and fun working with a great British company.’

Keith Keough adds: ‘Steve and I go way back. My respect for him as a drummer and percussionist is well documented and I am honoured to have been involved in the development of some iconic instruments alongside Steve. I am delighted to welcome my friend Steve into the KEO Percussion family and I look forward to working on some amazing products together.’
