Generation Axe deliver a stirring rendition of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’
The Freddie Mercury fever has been raging ever since the release of the Bohemian Rhapsody biopic. And it seems Generation Axe have caught the bug as well.
The all-star group – comprising Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt and Tosin Abasi – have covered the Queen megahit of the same name, and it’s an absolute treat for guitar fans. The instrumental cover saw Vai and Bettencourt take turns on the lead phrases, while Malmsteen, Wylde and Abasi handled the rhythm section.
It all built up to a solo that saw Vai syncing up with Bettencourt and Malmsteen on a brilliant passage of guitar harmonies. Words hardly do the performance justice.
