Please add volume control to artist toneprints (Spectracomp)
Hi guys,
I love my Spectracomp. I have had a love/hate relationship with compressor for years, due largely to my ignorance and inability to get a good sound out of one. Enter the Spectracomp. It’s stupidly simple to use. And it sounds great. The only issue I (and many others) have had is the volume boost inherent to so many of the Toneprints. Having no volume control on the pedal (like an actual external knob) is really limiting (no pun intended). And editing from my computer is not practical given my practice setup. So I had resigned myself to using a separate pedal after the Spectracomp (Like a VT Bass or Spark Boost) that would serve only as a volume control for the Spectracomp, so that when the Spectracomp was engaged, I could turn the gain back down. Otherwise, the added gain from the Spectracomp makes my drive pedals fart out.
Well, I finally got a lightning to USB cable so I could tweak the settings of my Spectracomp from my phone. It is fantastic! I finally figured out last night how to turn the gain down so there is no difference in output between when the pedal is engaged or bypassed. It’s fantastic, and saved the pedal from the chopping block.
However, I would really love it if you could add the ability to adjust the gain of the artist Toneprints to the app. I understand they don’t want everyone seeing the settings or tweaking them too much. But as they are, most of them are impossible for me to use (like Captain East, which I’m dying to use) without having another pedal after the Spectracomp – like a preamp – which I can use to just lower the output of the Spectracomp.
Any chance that might in the works for the future?
Thanks
