Award-winning engineer and Loud Mastering founder John Dent dies aged 63
The highly-revered engineer won the MPG Mastering Engineer of the Year Award in 2014
Loud Mastering founder John Dent passed away on December 29 2017, reports the Music Producers Guild.
The highly-revered mastering engineer found Loud Mastering in 1995, and won the MPG Mastering Engineer of the Year Award in 2014.
Having started his career aged 16 at Trident Studios in 1973, Dent was trained under Ray Staff and Howard Thompson in cutting vinyl.
He quickly developed his own clients and cut many punk era records, including releases for The Police, The Stranglers and Bob Marley & The Wailers. You can read a full list of his achievements here.
